Generative AI: 5 options to start using in 2025

According to global consultancy Oliver Wyman, 57% of Brazilians have already used artificial intelligence (AI) platforms, with 20% of these users applying the technology in personal activities and 11% in professional contexts. These figures reinforce how much Brazil is leading the adoption of this technological resource, especially when it comes to Generative AI (GenAI).

This category of AI is known for learning from large volumes of data and creating new content based on patterns detected during its training. Fabrício Carraro, Program Manager at Alura, the largest technology education ecosystem, explains that this capability is exactly what makes these tools ideal partners for a variety of goals.

“AI is accessible to anyone with a device and internet access; users can generate everything from text to videos and images, all within seconds, with a simple command (or ‘prompt’),” he says.

1. Generative AI – ChatGPT

One of the main drivers behind the AI “hype,” this model was developed by OpenAI and has been incorporating more and more features. Today, the best known are: generating coherent and contextually relevant text; analyzing documents; generating and fixing code; recognizing and generating images; and offering an advanced voice conversation mode in multiple languages.

“Whether for quicker tasks or others that require longer reasoning time, ChatGPT can be a major differentiator across various types of demands,” comments Carraro.

1. Generative AI – Gemini

Working in a similar way to ChatGPT, this Generative AI was created by Google and also generates text, code, and images with great quality and precision, in addition to analyzing images and documents. It currently also has the language model that accepts the largest amount of input content, equivalent to about 15-18 entire books.

“Gemini is definitely a tool that helps individuals and companies explore creativity in a practical and agile way,” highlights the Program Manager.

1. Generative AI – Claude

Developed by Anthropic, it is also similar to the previous two when it comes to text generation, code, and document analysis. However, this tool stands out for its “Artifacts” feature, an interactive system that makes it easier to view the generated results.

Currently, it is the preferred GenAI among developers for code generation.

This is one of the leading GenAI tools for creating artistic images. The technology generates sophisticated visuals from text prompts, offering flexibility of styles and applicability in design and visual marketing.

Specialized in videos, this GenAI allows for the creation of complete audiovisual content, whether from text prompts or images. “It’s ideal for those who want to explore new levels of interaction and immersion in visual content,” adds Carraro.

Skepticism is essential!

Although Generative AI has the potential to boost various types of goals and expand users’ creativity, the Alura specialist points out that its progress is only just beginning.

Because of this, people need to embrace this technological revolution with a skeptical eye. “For GenAI to develop in a sustainable and ethical way, it is essential to balance enthusiasm with a critical and informed view of its limitations and impacts,” concludes Carraro.
